How Andrews University Solved Their Course Scheduling Dilemma with Logiforms

Challenge
Andrews University needed a better way to manage course scheduling. They were using a system wherein each staff member would submit Excel files with the courses for the upcoming semesters.
“As you can imagine, there were lots of problems trying to do this with Excel,” explained Chuck Stark, “Staff members didn’t know how to access and open the Excel files. We ‘d end up with missing or incomplete data, and we would still have to compile it all manually once we received it.”
Solution
Andrews University was already using a web-based form design package, but it didn't go "Beyond Forms" like the Logiforms Higher Education Solution.
“In the past, our staff would have to submit a revised Excel file. Then, we would have to compile it all. Logiforms has saved us a ton of time, and everyone loves the new system”.

Chuck Stark set out to build a Course Scheduling Portal on the Logiforms WorkFlow platform. He set up user accounts for each staff member and designed a course scheduling form that would validate and format the data being collected.
“I created a workflow that would allow our staff to submit their courses, and be able to log back in and update their course outlines,” said Chuck, “We have over 100 staff members using this system now. It’s been very well-received”.
Results
When implemented, the Logiforms’ solution was a huge success. The university staff was able to manage their course information through their custom online portal. The data the portal collected was validated and compiled automatically through the Logiforms platform. This saved Chuck and his team hundreds of manual data entry hours.
“We have been so pleased with Logiforms that we’re looking at rolling it out university-wide,” explains Chuck. “The plan is to have each department set up with a sub-user account so they can manage all their forms in a centralized repository. All of this will be built using Logiforms.”
