How Coady International Institute Automated the Student Application and Enrollment Process
Established by St. Francis Xavier University in 1959, the Coady International Institute is a world-renowned centre of leadership education. Specifically, it trains leaders from around the world in community development.
To find the best possible candidates for their program, the institute sifts through thousands of applications over three months. Combing through applications and reference letter was not only inefficient; it was challenging for the administrative staff to maintain. Therefore, this global in community development turned to Logiforms.

Challenge
Coady International Institute’s enrollment process for their Global Change Leaders program attracts more than 7,000 applicants during its three-month enrollment period.
Each applicant provides two reference letters directly submitted by email. The administration had to match thousands of incoming emails to the applicants and responding to their queries. It was overwhelming for the staff.
Solution
Coady International Institute created a unique, multi-page form to walk students through the application process.
We used Logiforms’ triggers, a feature we could not find in competing products, to build intelligent workflow processing into our forms. We’ve automated information requests from two references using Logiforms’ triggers. It has saved us countless hours and thousands of dollars.

They added two email reference fields to the form. With Logiform’s workflow functionality, the references are automatically emailed with a link to provide their reference.
Once both references are received, the application’s status is automatically set to ‘complete,’ making it ready for final review. A completed PDF application is automatically generated.
Joan Francuz also implemented our Workflow Portal for staff to process and select applicants.
“The form displayed only those applicants who had provided both reference letters. I added an inline edit field so the staff could quickly mark applicants as ‘yes’ or ‘maybe.’ They they could access the pertinent information about each applicant quickly and efficiently,” explained Joan. “Our staff is able to access the portal from their home, the office, and on the road.”
