Linking to a generated PDF Form
If you want to include a link to a generated PDF document in your outgoing emails, autoresponder thank you page or on a published page, you need to first find the full path to the PDF. Follow these steps to get the path:
In this example we have a form Named "Order Form" which uses a PDF Profile to generate a PDF document for each new form submission. A Reference to the PDF is stored in the field named "PDFFIELD". This fieldname is set when you first create the PDF Profile. See Dynamic PDF Generation or Populating a PDF Form on how to set this up. Below is a screen shot of the options on the PDF Profile setup, that illustrate how the "Generate Populated PDF for each new submission" should be set up. Note: you do not need to set the 'update option' to true, you only need to ensure that the "Generate Populated PDF for each new submission"is checked and the Hidden Form Field Name is entered.
- From the Component Details Menu, select the form you want to work with, for our example this is "Order Form"
- Roll over the Integration Tab, and click the direct link option.
- The URL shown here, is the full URL to your Form. Cut & paste this URL into wordpad and add "attachments/[pdffield]"
- This URL is now the full URL to the attachments folder, and the name of the file.
In this example, the field [pdffield] is the field on your form that will contain the filename of the PDF Document. When you include this URL in an outgoing email, or on the autoresponder thank you page, the "[pdffield]" wildcard will be replaced with the actual filename.
The final URL, should look something like this:
|
Note: the url will change based on your forms URL and the fieldname you have selected in the PDF Profile Setup.

"Auto responders are a very powerful part of the Logiforms system making it very easy to provide an immediate detailed response
to people who have completed one of my on line forms. I also use 'rules' to select the response I want to be issued, this ensures
that the autoresponders are more detailed and specific."
