Using AVS with Authorize.net
AVS stands for Address Verification System. logiforms support AVS with Authorize.net transactions. In order to enable AVS, you need to configure which fields on your form contain the address,city,state,zip and country information. These settings can be made under "Address Verification" within the Authorize.net Profile Settings, under Post Processing Actions. This data is then passed to Authorize.net. You must also enable AVS from within your Authorize.net account: The merchant can configure the gateway to reject or accept transactions based on the AVS code returned. To configure rejection or acceptance of a transaction based on the AVS code, do the following (only users with the appropriate permissions will be able to access this setting): 1. Log into the Merchant Interface 2. Select Settings from the Main Menu 3. Click on the Address Verification System (AVS) link from the Security section 4. Check the box(es) next to the AVS codes that the system should reject 5. Click Submit to save changes Returned Values A return value will be returned and available for use in your autoresponders in the field named [authorize_avsResult]. The Possible results of an AVS transaction are: Address (Street) matches, ZIP does not Address information not provided for AVS check AVS error Non-U.S. Card Issuing Bank No Match on Address (Street) or ZIP AVS not applicable for this transaction Retry â?? System unavailable or timed out Service not supported by issuer Address information is unavailable 9 digit ZIP matches, Address (Street) does not Address (Street) and 9 digit ZIP match Address (Street) and 5 digit ZIP match 5 digit ZIP matches, Address (Street) does not Important: AVS was added to our integration options with Authorize.net on June 02 / 2007. If you have an existing Authorize.net profile setup in logiforms, and would now like to take advantage of using AVS, you will need to manually add the field 'authorize_avsResult' to your form. Just add a standard text field, set it to hidden and name it 'authorize_avsResult'.
