Using AVS with Authorize.net

AVS stands for Address Verification System. logiforms support AVS with Authorize.net transactions. In order to enable AVS, you need to configure which fields on your form contain the address, city, state, zip and country information.  These settings can be made under "Address Verification" within the Authorize.net Profile Settings, under Post Processing Actions. This data is then passed to Authorize.net.

You must also enable AVS from within your Authorize.net account:
The merchant can configure the gateway to reject or accept transactions based on the AVS code returned. To configure rejection or acceptance of a transaction based on the AVS code, do the following (only users with the appropriate permissions will be able to access this setting):

1. Log into the Merchant Interface
2. Select Settings from the Main Menu
3. Click on the Address Verification System (AVS) link from the Security section
4. Check the box(es) next to the AVS codes that the system should reject
5. Click Submit to save changes

Returned Values
A return value will be returned and available for use in your autoresponders in the field named [authorize_avsResult]. The Possible results of an AVS transaction are:

Address (Street) matches, ZIP does not
Address information not provided for AVS check
AVS error
Non-U.S. Card Issuing Bank
No Match on Address (Street) or ZIP
AVS not applicable for this transaction
Retry â?? System unavailable or timed out
Service not supported by issuer
Address information is unavailable
9 digit ZIP matches, Address (Street) does not

Important: AVS was added to our integration options with Authorize.net on June 02 / 2007. If you have an existing Authorize.net profile setup in logiforms, and would now like to take advantage of using AVS, you will need to manually add the field 'authorize_avsResult' to your form. Just add a standard text field, set it to hidden and name it 'authorize_avsResult'.

"The form builder is actually quite ingenious in its simplicity. The flexibility it affords is almost unexpected because it's so easy to use. We were able to quickly create about a half dozen forms and get them online and working with complete validation, email, and data storage in the same amount of time it would have taken to create just the HTML for only one of the forms."
